The Unprofessional Mini-pool League runs on normal pool rules, plus the house rules below. Everything here applies to every regular-season match. Playoff rules are at the bottom.
General play
- Normal pool rules apply unless a rule below overrides them.
- Failing to call a corner and then sinking the 8-ball is an automatic loss.
- No bumping the table in your favor.
- Knocking a ball off the table gives your opponent ball in hand.
Scratches
- One intentional scratch per game. It counts as two scratches.
- Tapping a ball with your hand counts as a scratch, but you may still take your shot.
- Three scratches in a row gives ball in hand to your opponent, until the count is reset.
- The three-scratch rule runs 3 → 3 → 2.
- Six scratches in a row lets your opponent choose one of their own balls to place in a pocket. This can never be the 8-ball.
- On your 10th scratch of the match, your opponent gets ball in hand.
Playoff rules
- Championship 8-ball loss: if you lose on the 8-ball in the championship, both players reset and the opposing player takes ball in hand.
- Seeding advantage: in playoff matches the higher seed gets free balls in — the opponent chooses which — based on how many more wins the higher seed finished the season with.
Rules are set by the league and may be amended between seasons.
